McFaul became part of the trunk of Leonhard Seppala ancestry that survived extinction in the 1970s through the Markovo Kennels breeding of J. Jeffrey Bragg and Betsy Bush and resulted finally in the founding of the Seppala Siberian Sleddog evolving breed in 1997 in Canada's Yukon Territory.
